Del 8 Semi-advanced rock recording – Inspelningsteknik rockband

Record the drums first with a line signal guitar or bass following in headphones. if you have more than one room, have the bass cabinette in the other room and mic it up, or else just use some shitty plugin to make it sound less horrible.

Then record bass for real. Then guitar 1, then guitar 2, nevermind solos, then vocals. According to this or close to this set up below. You wont need more than 16 channels (11 in this case) of simultaneous recording. Don’t let anything distort on the insignal… control the input gain properly. Keep it clean. The sound you have when recording is very crucial make drums sound very good acoustically in the room, make guitars sound excellent. And have them intonated and tuned!

Magic in mixing comes from a good job recording.

And when delivering separate channels for mixing export them in 24bit 44,1khz, make no phase shifting or compressors, reverbs, EQ or anything to the channels. Let the mixer do his/her job. Ok here is some info about micing up different stuff.
